On 08.07.2025, the family of O.A.P.F. Constable Shri Loknath Shabar, who tragically died in a collision with a speeding sand-laden truck near Gattirautpatna under Cuttack CRRI Police Station on April 22, 2024, received a significant compensation package totaling Rs. 1.10 crore. This payout marks a pioneering initiative, made possible by a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signed between the Commissionerate Police and Bank of Baroda on August 27, 2024. The comprehensive compensation includes Rs. 1 crore for accidental death during duty and an additional Rs. 10 lakh as life insurance.
